Forks Over Knives
About This Documentary
Researchers explore the possibility that people changing their diets from animal-based to plant-based can help eliminate or control diseases like cancer and diabetes.
Story of the inception of the solid science behind the plant-based movement. Although it’s 13 years old, it remains relevant and accurate today. This is a great introduction to the research of Dr. Campbell and Dr. Esselstyn. They pioneered the foundational studies and nutritional interventions on patients before there was a huge body of research that now supports the WFPB diet. The pace and video quality make it feel dated, but that’s actually one of the reasons I enjoyed re-watching it in 2024. Newer documentaries tend to jump around more with shorter, attention-grabbing scenes. If you compare documentaries to children’s programming, this might be comparable to the original Mr. Roger’s Neighborhood (in a good way).
